Today is our Backcountry Day event at Monarch Mountain! Join us and the CO AVITalks as part of NSAA National Safety Month for backcountry education and activities. Attend a Know Before You Go presentation, check out backcountry equipment vendors, and take part in uphill/downhill activities. Backcountry equipment demos, avi dogs demonstrations, and dawn patrol tour (uphill/downhill event). Colorado Mtn College, Avalanche Science Program, will conduct workshops on backcountry trip planning, avi beacon use, and digging snowpits as well as leading a short backcountry tour miestenapteekki.com. The event is free of charge, but everyone participating in the uphill on-mountain activities must sign an uphill waiver.

CO AVITalks-Saturday night in Salida, Jan 12- 7-10pm
Great presentations on avalanche education, Social hour, great local beer, silent auction, giveaways, vendor tables, great music, and ski videos. Held at the coolest venue in Salida, A Church, 419 D Street.
