Thinning along the top tree islands of Gunbarrel Ridge can be seen in the photo below.  In just a few days the timber contractors have thinned the upper portions of these tree islands out  from the Gunbarrel Trees over towards the Sidewinder Trail.  Dead and dying trees that are infested with the spruce beetle are being removed.  We plan to thin the lower sections of these tree islands from below later in the month.  Please stay clear of these areas while timber ops are occuring.  It will be worth the wait until the snow flies!
