Heli Ops Complete

We have completed this summer’s helicopter operations for our timber removal project. We still have timber processing occurring in three locations on the mountain (Lower Tango, Pano Flats, and the bottom of Sleepy Hollow) and logging trucks using our summer access roads. The mountain is open for hiking but please avoid these areas and steer clear of all trucks and equipment.

As described in an earlier post, during the helicopter ops, we utilized a trail detour for a portion of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and the Colorado Trail. Now that these ops are complete, we have eliminated the detour and this portion of the trail is open along the divide through the ski area.

Monarch Mountain is an equal opportunity provider and operates under a special use permit with the Pike San Isabel National Forest.
