During runoff, a small lake forms in a natural depression in Mirkwood Basin. Located directly below the East Trees terrain, this lake forms in what we call the “Big Meadow” during winter. This zone is used as a regrouping spot for our cat skiing operations and when skiing with a buddy or two. Later in the summer this zone tends to dry up. Particularly during a dry spring and summer.
