Pow Day!

Great skiing at Monarch today! It snowed all day and the turns got better with each lap. With the snow in town, this tells us that it’s an “upslope” storm. Meaning, that the NE winds are the opposite of what they usually are (typically W or SW). These types of storms load up the trees and certain aspects on the mountain. Gunbarrel Ridge, Genos, and all tree runs (once you get off the top of Pano and Mirkwood ridgelines) were particularly good today. More snow is forecasted overnight so the good times should continue into the weekend.

Monarch Mountain is an equal opportunity provider and operates under a special use permit with the Pike San Isabel National Forest.
