We recently held a two-day Pro 1 Avalanche Bridge Exam for several of our guides and patrollers with instructors from the Silverton Avalanche School. The Avalanche Education industry has recently revised the guidelines for avalanche safety training in the United States. There are now two different course progressions for recreational riders and professional avalanche workers.

The Pro 1 Bridge Exam is for individuals who currently have Level 2 Avalanche training and a working professional background. The focus of the Pro 1 Bridge is to evaluate the skills of each student at the Pro 1 standard through both written and field examination. The crew did great and it’s always a positive thing to get into that mindset as a full season of mitigation work gets underway.
