Thank you Mother Nature for rewarding our collective efforts with some glorious powder. We’ve received 28 inches over the last several days, with more in the forecast. As such, as promised, I’m extending the season until April 11. We had originally scheduled to close on the 4th, thinking that by then we would be more than ready to do so under the weight of pandemic stress. The snow has revitalized us and most of you, who came last Sunday in droves. It was really the first real substantial powder day of the season and it was awesome to see everyone enjoy it so much. As I mentioned in an earlier blog, parking can become a big problem for us and that day was indeed a problem. Although we did restrict the number of tickets we sold for that day by a lot, we didn’t restrict season pass holders. The good news was that it was nice to see all of you. The bad news was because there were so few people in each vehicle, we ran out of parking spaces quickly. We have long joked about how there are no friends on a powder day, but coupled with COVID restrictions and the like, we had our hands full for sure. Just so you know, if we had not restricted tickets that day we would have likely seen 1,500 more skiers. Fortunately this summer we will be expanding our parking capacity as we had planned to do last summer. There’s always room for more.
So the finish line has been moved ahead a little. At least this time it feels like a blessing. See you on the slopes!
