Still Snowing

Looks like its going to be a short summer up here. We are in store for FEET of snow this week. For anyone touring up here this week or weekend, I have a few items for you.

We have started timber cutting operations in the lower Panorama Basin. So, we have trees down (that will likely get buried by snow) in the run-out zone off the ridge. This is the High Anx, JR’s, Zipper, Dire, Picante, Ticaboo, and Snowburn areas. We also have a pile of trees decked down near the bottom of the Panorama lift.

We have also started significant plowing operations opening up roads and water drains. So there are large drop-offs and piles of snow to contend with near the base area. The tubing park was also plowed down so there is a very large pile of snow in the Little Mo run-out. The kayaks on snow course is still mostly intact on Freeway with big berms and chunks of snow. The pond has mostly drained but there is some ice up there.

Our uphill policy is still in effect and users need to sign a waiver and have an uphill ticket. There are currently no services (including ski patrol). Backcountry snow conditions exist with no avalanche mitigation. Travel with a partner and carry avalanche rescue equipment.
