Summer Snapshot

This look from the top of Ticaboo shows off a few items. First is the stark contrast between the tree island we thinned last summer between Ticaboo and Snowburn and the one across the trail that has not been cleared of beetle killed trees (yet). Second is a peek at the first of our new snow fences to be built this summer. It’s visible in the upper cut heading towards Snowburn. This should catch snow blowing over the Divide and allow us to push this pile out onto the top of Snowburn. This area can be thin at times due to wind moving through the saddle of the Original Monarch Pass. Finally, the last few remnants of snow on our lift served terrain can be seen in Outback and Shag. Off in the distance, Baldy is holding it’s cornice well into summer as usual.
