A few of us went up to Ski Cooper today to visit our friends there. Earlier this summer, they stopped by Monarch to see what we were up to. Just like we are doing at Monarch, they are also making preparations for operating in a COVID landscape this season. This is one of the great things about the ski industry. While we all compete for customers to some degree, we are also friends that share info about our ski area operations. Cooper is one of the “Gems” of Colorado and has a unique history as training grounds for the 10th Mountain Division. Monarch Mountain and Ski Cooper are the only two ski areas located in the San Isabel National Forest and two of the last ski areas in Colorado that don’t utilize snowmaking. Gems indeed!
