We recently held our first tour of the new trails in No Name Basin. As detailed in several posts last summer, the timber crew worked to clear out the majority of our designated ski trails. This winter is our opportunity to test these trails out prior to installing the lift next summer. The bottom terminal area is adjacent to one of our previously existing cat skiing pick up locations. So, it’s easy enough to ski down and catch a ride up on the snowcat. The terrain is NN Basin is very fun with a nice fall line and interesting terrain features. During the timber work last summer, we aimed to leave as many green tree islands as we could. This backside terrain feels so unique as you ski/ride off the western side of the Divide looking down the Gunnison Valley. Having this terrain in the mix is really going to be a game changer next year. Meanwhile, our Cat Skiing program will continue to utilize this terrain for tours this winter.
