Lift Blog

If you are interested in ski area operations, one of the best sites out there to follow is Lift Blog.  This site contains a ton of articles that cover proposed and planned new lifts as well as other ski area and lift-related news.  One of the most impressive parts of this website, is the database and photographs of every lift in the United States and Canada.

Peter Landsman founded and maintains this site while also working as a Supervisor in Lift Operations at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.  Peter has the extremely ambitious goal each year to visit every new lift installation! These visits are not only to ride it, but to take photographs and post specifications for each lift.

I first met him a few years ago when he stopped by Monarch Mountain and then the Monarch Crest to add our lifts to his database.  He recently visited Monarch Mountain a few weeks ago on a very snowy day to ride and document the new Tomichi Lift.

This site is an amazing resource for ski area operators, planners, and for anyone who loves ski lifts.  Enjoy!
