Standing Tall

The new lift towers are standing tall in No Name Basin.  Here is a look at tower 8 which is one of three angle towers on the lift line. Tower 7 and tower 9 are also designed as angle towers.  These towers are often implemented in a lift’s engineering design to pass over steep terrain. The angled design allows a more efficient load distribution and reduces the need for extensive foundations while maintaining an axial load on the towers.  This particular section of the lift line maintains a steep profile due to both the terrain and the fact that this section of the lift passes over three sections of our summer road that switchback through this zone.  The crew from Skytrac will now turn to stringing the pilot line ahead of pulling the haul rope onto the sheaves and the upcoming rope splice.  Stay tuned!
