We toured the new network of ski trails in No Name Basin with our partners from the USFS today. This group included staff from the Mountain Resorts Team, the Pike-San Isabel National Forest Supervisor’s office in Pueblo, and the Salida Ranger District. Many of these individuals were involved through the full process as the project was formally proposed, through the multiple steps during the Environmental Assessment process, and now during the implementation phase. It’s amazing and rewarding to see it go from a 2D engineering diagram, to a governmental project application form, to making turns down the new trail corridors. For now, we caught a few rides back up to the ridgeline on the snowcat. It will be even better next winter when we are ALL riding the new lift together up and out from the bottom of No Name Basin. Can’t wait.
