Zorro

Zorro is the Spanish word for a male fox.  Our resident fox is on the move at Monarch in both the summer and the winter seasons.  We see it cruising the base area and observe its tracks up on the upper reaches of the mountain while riding the lifts.

With the new expansion into No Name Basin opening up this winter, we made the decision to go ahead and rename the “Upper & Lower No Name” trails to alleviate confusion among our guests.  The trail formerly known as “Upper No Name” will now be called “Zorro” in honor of our resident fox.  This trail runs just to the skier’s left of “Lobo”, which is the Spanish word for wolf.

I’ll also look to post on the updated story line behind the renamed “Lower No Name” trail this week.  In addition to these renamed trails, there are a few other updates for the frontside map that will soon be unveiled.  Stay tuned!
