Today is the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year. The sun is sitting high in the sky at mid-day and the temps are warm and comfortable in the mountains. We are lucky to live in Colorado. We actually have four distinct seasons and they all offer something special for the outdoor enthusiast. While summer may have officially arrived, we are still waiting for the high trails (particularly the Crest) to clear from the winter’s deep snow. It should happen here in the next couple of weeks. Every year when we reach the official start of summer, I like to remind people to make the most of it. With the solstice taking place today, the days only get shorter from here, and winter is once again on the way.
