The fall colors in Colorado are a moment in time that doesn’t last long. It’s a perfect juxtaposition of gold leaves and a brilliant blue sky. The mornings are crisp but the days warm up and are set up for an afternoon hike or mountain bike ride. Chaffee County has some incredible trails to explore and you should take advantage…
The weather has returned to cool mornings and warm afternoons since the short lived winter storm last weekend. This dry weather will enable us to finish up our fall projects and tidy things up before winter shows up in earnest. The fall colors down in No Name Basin on the opposite side of the creek are showing their stuff.
The crew from VM West have completed bringing timber from the cleared trail corridors in No Name Basin down to the deck locations on the frontside of the mountain. The deck at Pano and the Tubing Park have been cleared out. The semi-trucks are now working on clearing out the large deck of trees in the upper parking lot. We…
It felt like coming home to see snow blanketing the mountain this morning. As I said earlier, these early snows don’t stick around, but they sure look nice! If you look close enough at the photo, you can see that someone even got out for a couple of turns on just a few inches of snow. Cred.

This final step cleans up the timber debris, creates a skiable surface and…
It’s an amazing sight to see a sparkling blue lake nestled high among the Alpine peaks. We have a few of our own up here on the Divide with the cluster of lakes in the Waterdog Basin. These are located just on the east side of the Continental Divide with our cat skiing terrain perched above.
We received our first dusting of snow on the high peaks on Wednesday afternoon and hints of fall are in the air.
The trail network within No Name Basin is coming together! The crew from VM West has been clearing the trail corridors and forwarding this timber up and over the Continental Divide. These trails drop into the Basin and have around a 1000′ vertical drop to the bottom terminal. We have been hiking these newly cut trails and they all seem…
