Closing Day 25-26

It’s a wrap. Kudos to the Mountain Operations team for working hard all season long and continuously doing A LOT with a little.  Rightly so, our Slope Maintenance team was named the Department of the Year!  Thanks to this crew for working their magic each and every night to keep as much terrain open for as long as they could.

Working in the ski industry and at the whims of Mother Nature, you never know what you are going to get.  Sometimes you get massive storms and are continuously digging out while also hoping that the highway will be open.  Or, we may have high winds that bring in storms, but don’t allow us to open our lifts safely.  Other times, it could be bluebird days with no worries.  Then there is everything in between that the mountain, utilities, infrastructure, or the folks visiting up here may bring into the mix.

I always say that one of the the most interesting parts about working in the ski industry is that each season brings something we have never seen before.  This season certainly did in more ways than one.  Despite the lackluster snowfall and the persistent high pressure weather patterns, our team worked to deliver the most terrain to possible to our guests each and every day.  This season brought the opening of No Name Basin and the opportunity to explore both sides of the Continental Divide.  This lift will spin for decades to come and there will certainly be a lot of big seasons back there for all of us to enjoy in the future.

Despite the challenging winter patterns, there were still a lot of good skiing days mixed in there. Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed their days on the snow this season!
