Weapons of Branch Destruction

One of our big goals this summer has been to clean up more and better ski lines in the No Name Basin trees.  One area that makes a huge difference is removing lower branches on many of our dead beetle kill trees as it reduces the diameter of those trees from 5-10 feet to less than a foot.  This morning our patrol crew had a couple of their pole saws in the shop for repairs so they were given simple instructions, who can make the best tool (which they interpreted as weapon) for removing tree limbs.  They were pretty excited to unlock their creative problem solving skills and put their creations to the test.  Don’t worry, appropriate PPE was used in the field and Hussey was kept well away from public and his coworkers with that metal pole.
