Our Lift Maintenance crew has recently put the final touches on the Tumbelina counterweight enclosure. I posted last year about the major upgrades made to the Tumbelina Lift. In this post, you can see the exposed counterweight in this location. Our goal with this project was to eliminate the need to back-drag the lodge side of the counterweight with a snowcat blade to maintain access. It also makes life easier and safer for our lift operations team that had the daily task of constantly shoveling this area out to maintain ground clearance for the counterweight. Eliminating this open area on the lodge side of the counterweight should also widen the egress in this zone to allow better skier/rider flow towards the Pioneer and Garfield lifts. Did I mention that it also looks pretty sharp?
