I had the opportunity to attend the FIS World Cup in Aspen over the weekend. It was an electric atmosphere with an international flair. Racers from all around the globe contended for the top spot over three days in both men’s Downhill and Super-G. These athletes put it all on the line at up to 80 mph racing to be the first to the bottom of the mountain. From a mountain operations perspective, I could see that there was a ton of work that went into hosting these races. Although no Americans made the podium, the Aspen team should feel proud for pulling off this massive event.
