We picked up an additional five inches of snow during Wednesday night’s quick moving storm. We are getting there bit by bit. Each one of these snowfall events is helping to slowly build our base. While much of the mountain is now completely snow covered, we still need one or two more decent storm events to open. This time of year we are really looking for a big heavy snowstorm that will solidify our base. The goal is always not just to open but to stay open. Once the ski area begins winter operations, the snow must hold up to nightly grooming and daily skier/snowboarder traffic. We are not quite there yet. Next week looks cold with some chances for light accumulation and potentially more snow as we head towards the weekend. Keep watching the horizon and think snow!
