Leitwolf

Each season, we work with our industry partners to set up a demo of new snowcat models here at Monarch.  Recently, our team of operators have been trying out the Leitwolf snowcat from Prinoth.  This snowcat has a larger footprint and tiller than the rest of our Bison fleet.  So, each pass on the slopes covers just a bit more terrain making it more efficient during the grooming shift.  The Leitwolf also has a powerful 530hp Mercedes engine with a larger blade meaning it can push huge volumes of snow and more easily climb steep slopes.  These updated models from Prinoth also utilize a cleaner exhaust system to meet higher emission standards.  A few other features include a parallel offset tiller that allows the operators to clean up edges and work the soft side of trails.  A cushy adjustable suspension system tops it off with versatility on the slopes and a comfortable ride for the operator.

We typically look to streamline our fleet as much as possible.  This makes it easier for operators going from one snowcat to another on subsequent shifts.  It also makes it more consistent in stocking parts in the shop and for our mechanics conducting maintenance work and repairs on these machines.  Our fleet currently consists of seven Prinoth snowcats and one Bombardier tour cat.  With the potential of more acres to groom in No Name basin in a few years, and in always looking to improve our fleet, we are planning to add another snowcat in our upcoming Capital Expenditures.  Look for another shiny new cat on the slopes in the near future.
