The Mountain Ops team has been working diligently to get the mountain ready. We have snowcats out track-packing, pushing piles, and grooming slopes. The snow removal team is harvesting huge piles from the lot that are used for building up areas around the lodge and bottom of the ski lifts. The patrol crew is stringing boundary rope, placing pads, stocking patrol outposts and mitigating slopes. Our lift operations army is prepping unload and load areas, setting up pit ropes and mazes, stocking tools, signs and ropes at each duty station. The vehicle maintenance and lift maintenance teams are keeping all the important machines running. It takes a lot of moving parts to get this place going each season. Kudos to all the hard working people out there that make it happen. With the significant snowfall we received, we are in really good shape. We have very good coverage, creeks are mostly filled and we have a lot to work with. We will be looking to open four lifts (Pioneer, Tumbelina, Caterpillar and Panorama) on Wednesday. Just about all of our green/easiest trails will be open, about fourteen blue/intermediate trails, and a handful of black/advances trails will join in the mix. We should have around thirty trails open on Wednesday. Once the mountain gets up and running, ski patrol and slope maintenance will be working to open more of the mountain as efficiently and safely as we can. The big storm has put a sudden load on weak and shallow base layers within the snowpack. Please be sure to observe all closures at the mountain as we get this season rolling. See you in a few days.
