When it’s blowing…it’s snowing! Mirkwood Bowl sits high on the Continental Divide. With consistent winds out of the west and southwest, this northeast facing bowl receives almost continuous wind loaded snow. If you haven’t made the hike up yet this season, I highly suggest making a little side mission to explore this corner of the ski area. Currently, the turns are soft and deep in the Bowl, out on Elation Ridge and through the trees below Mirkwood Ridge. Hike. Ski. Repeat.
