Our cat skiing guides and snowcat operators have spent the last week conducting avalanche mitigation work in Mirkwood and out in the MCS terrain. We took advantage of the sunny, warm weather to initiate use of our disruption roller as described in previous blog posts here and in this one.
This is a great tool for early season mitigation work and so far this season we have deployed it in Mirkwood Bowl, Orcs and along the Waterdog Ridge in the MCS permitted terrain. Our guides and patrollers have also been out with the ski packing crew in Mirkwood Trees, Staircase and East Trees. All this terrain is now ready for more snow. Which thankfully it looks like we have some in the forecast. Bring it on.
