A few of our patrollers started a tradition several years ago. They would pick a nice spring day during the slower weekdays in March or April. Under bluebird conditions with just a few hundred people on the mountain, they would get after it and ski every lift-served trail at Monarch in a day.
I recently had a guest ask me if it could be done. I said yes, it could be done, and it had been done. I then put him in touch with our staff that had pulled it off so that they could answer a few questions and give a couple of tips. He set out earlier this month with this mission on the agenda and sent me a screenshot of his accomplishment. To add to his challenge, the day he picked to accomplish this feat, we had closed Garfield for some routine maintenance. So, he instead had to ride the Pioneer Lift with a longer ride time and a further hike to access the “Uppers” trails. Congrats to Jeremy and thanks for sharing!
If you are looking for a great way to spend a day during these last few weeks of the season…here you go!
