In addition to our terrain expansion project going on, we have another big timber project taking place.  The USFS has contracted work out to address the ongoing spruce beetle issue near our ski area boundary.  Their project is focusing on removing standing dead trees in areas adjacent to our upper parking lot and the Egress Trail coming out from the bottom of Mirkwood.  The majority of the work is just outside our boundary rope, but there will be a small area that will be thinned on the uphill side of the Egress Trail near the lower runouts of Lodgeview and East Trees.  Look for a cleaner exit as you make your way off the Ridge next winter!
