Our Patrol and Base Services crews have been out building more snow fencing in No Name Basin.  These fences are made from local rough sawn lumber and are placed on the windward side and center of trails where we have issues with wind scour.  These fences decelerate the wind and create a pile of snow on the leeward side that a snowcat can push out onto the run.  This season we are building almost 1000 ft of fencing along the following trails: Mule Train, Prospector, Riches, Snowblind, and Eureka.  While we have faith that this season will bring much more snow than last, these fences will help us get more terrain open earlier and get us cruising top to bottom in no time!
