It never fails. Every year after we close, we seem to get a few of these big spring storms that cover the mountain in a blanket of snow. These types of storms can add up to anywhere from two to six feet of additional snowfall for the season after closing day. So far this spring, we have received about three feet of additional snow. Both of the larger storms have occurred during the weekend period and the mountain looks to have been well traveled by our uphill weekend warriors. As detailed in my earlier spring post, all users on the mountain after we close must have an uphill pass. The Arkansas River basin is now at 119% of the median average for this date. We should be in good shape come boating season. Meanwhile, if it’s going to keep snowing, we might as well keep on skiing.
