It was a classic Monarch Snow Day. Weekday crowds, no lift lines and fresh refills. Just me and my thoughts on what line to ski next.

Accountants, Childcare, Events, Explosive Technicians, Food and Beverage, Guides, Lift Operations, Lift and Vehicle Mechanics, Parking Ops, Patrollers, Property Maintenance Staff, Restaurants, Retail, Ski School, Terrain Parks, Tubing, Shuttles…and yes, we even have a water treatment facility.
Well, we were once again delivered a Christmas storm. Between December 21st and January 4th, we received 49″ of snowfall. This included just shy of 4″ of water content helping to not only bolster our base but improve the long term snowpack average and subsequent water runoff in the spring. It’s good to be back!
The first wave of storms this week delivered 18″ in 48 hours. This included 14″ in the last 24 hours. Today was a special day. If you were here, I hope you enjoyed it. It looks like we could see a few more memorable days coming up soon.
Mirkwood is now open and the skiing is steep and deep! Mirkwood Bowl, Trees, Orcs, Staircase, Lodgeview and Southbound opened today. With more snow in the forecast, conditions will only get better from here. Get your hike on and we’ll see you at the top.
The Park Crew has worked hard to get a bunch of features open in our advanced park, Steel City. Boxes, rails, kinks and hits are now just a few freestyle features in the park. Easy. Style. It.
