As expected, the Pike-San Isabelle National Forest has joined Chaffee County and is now under Stage 2 Fire Restrictions.
Highlights:

No open fires of any kind unless they are in a device that is fueled by liquid or gas that can be turned off and in an area devoid of flammable material (cook stove/barbeque).

No smoking outdoors: smoking is only allowed in an enclosed vehicle or building

Park vehicles in areas devoid of vegetation within 10 feet of the motor vehicle.

No Fireworks, Explosives, etc.
The next couple of weeks will be critical in preventing more wildfires from starting. We know that everyone is excited to get out into the wilderness to enjoy America’s 250th and Colorado’s 150th birthdays, but please recreate responsibly.
