Our terrain park on the Breezeway side has once again taken on a new name. This trail has seen changes in nomenclature over the last 15 years that have included Slo-Motion, K2 Organic Terrain Park, Never Summer, Ramble On and now adds Steel City to the mix. The trail has transitioned from a full on intermediate trail, to a top to bottom flow park, and more recently to a mixed use intermediate trail that also offers a separate freestyle terrain park on the lower portion of the slope.
Steel City pays homage to the rich mining history on Monarch Pass and its connection to the steel that was produced down river in Pueblo, CO. AKA…the Steel City of the west. After the silver boom and bust on the Pass, the limestone mined on Monarch Pass helped to supply the steel mill in Pueblo and contributed greatly to building Colorado, the railways and the west. To continue the legacy, our crew now builds out the freestyle park with steel features. The guys over at the shop fabricated a really unique sign that pays tribute to this unique connection to the CFI steel mill and the Pueblo skyline. The rest is Freestyle history.
