It’s finally feeling like summer up here on the mountain.  We are beyond our peak runoff period and the snow patches are melting off.  We now have service road access around the mountain and it’s time to get a few projects started.  We have several mountain projects on our list for this summer.  Our ski patrol saw team is in once again to continue cleaning up the tree islands and improving lines around the mountain.  We have a Mountain Ops Annex building that will be built next to our Patrol HQ that will provide additional offices and locker rooms for several departments.  We are also planning to construct a 2-Bay snowcat storage building in the Vehicle Maintenance lot and adding an electronic entrance gate coming off the highway and into the lot that will help streamline our summer operations.  The BIG project in No Name Basin is still in a holding pattern as we wait for the lengthy USFS review and approval process to reach a conclusion.  Stay tuned for a more in-depth update on this project proposal.
