Our MCS operators have been branching our snow roads out. They have built the over the snow road from the top of Mirkwood, along the Waterdog Ridge and up to the top of No Name peak. The operators have made the drop down the east side and are now working on heading down the west side of the Continental Divide.
The windward side of the ridge presents a challenge for our operators. They undertake a methodical process of harvesting snow from the leeward side and little by little push it over onto the west side. Much of this work is done with a winch cat. They take extra precaution to first push enough snow with their blade ensuring the road base is deep enough before the cat continues on. From here there are several more steps to reach the bottom of the No Name drainage. Onward.
