Halloween Tally

It’s the end of October. We saw a fair amount of snow fall over the course of the month with 18″ YTD. The storms were a bit spread out over the entire month with some wild swings in temperature. As a result, the north facing slopes held on to some of this while the south facing ones saw it come and go. We start to count snow once it sticks on the north facing slopes. These early storms tend to last on the shady slopes and either end up being snow we keep as part of our base or serve as a weak layer during early avalanche mitigation work. Here’s to hoping November keeps it coming!
