With a week to go before Christmas all of us from Monarch Mountain would like to wish you a very Happy Holiday season. For those of you planning on visiting during the week after Christmas day I hope that you have purchased your tickets already. These days have sold out quickly, but don’t fret. The week before Christmas day still has plenty of opportunity for online ticket purchases. Of course, purchasing a season pass is still the best way to ensure that you and your family can ski anytime, even during the busy Christmas week. Fortunately, under our current guidelines we are still able to provide indoor dining, although at a limited capacity. We purchased an additional food trailer called “Shredders” that is now located near the Ski Patrol building. It is a great place to grab a burger, fries, pizza and more to eat outdoors or at your tailgate. In addition, you can now order take-out from the world-famous Sidewinder Saloon on the top floor of the lodge. It’s super convenient and keeps you out of the fray all the way.
Sadly, we are canceling our usual Fireworks display and Torch Light Parade on New Year’s Eve. Of course, the issue isn’t necessarily the fireworks, but the problem of over-crowding inside the building while waiting for the fireworks to go off. Since the lifts close at 4pm and the event doesn’t start until 6pm, we decided that that is too long a time for folks to wait outdoors or in their cars. So let’s just do a spectacular one next season at leave this 2020 in the dust. So not to leave you all on a negative note, we are opening the tubing hill this Friday … just in time!
Happy Holidays to all of you … see you on the slopes!
