Here is a view from above looking over the expanded Paradise Lot. You can really see the scale of the improvement from this perspective with the main lot in view for comparison. The Paradise Lot basically doubled in size going from approximately 1.81 acres to 3.66. As mentioned earlier, this should really help reduce those pinch points on peak days…
While we only had a dusting on the board the other day, we now have a light blanket of snow on the mountain. While most of this won’t stick around, it sure didn’t take long to get another reminder that winter is on the way.
That’s how long it has been between snowfall on the pass. As mentioned in an earlier post, we picked up a dusting in late June and now have another in late September. It won’t be long now before it actually starts sticking around.
Take in this awesome view of the mountain. Enjoy!
It took a bit of effort, but the deck sites have now been tidied up. VM West finished hauling the timber away after spending a few weeks processing it at the sites. The slash has been relocated and the trails are now clear of this debris. In addition to the log loader and logging trucks used for clearing the commercial…
The aspens on Syncline Hill just above the town of Garfield are popping! Each fall season, this slope is one of the most impressive areas on the pass. Enjoy the gold!
The crew from Lowry Contracting has finished their work on the Paradise Lot expansion. A huge thanks goes out to these guys for their perseverance and professionalism on this project. We have basically doubled the amount of space we have up there. This should give us all a little elbow room and a bit of a buffer on those busy…

(For more info on the powerline, check out this blog post from 2018.) Since that time, this area does seem to get a fair amount of skier traffic in search of a…
It’s starting to feel like fall up here! We are starting to see some changes in the season. The tundra is getting red, the aspens are turning gold and the mornings are feeling crisp. Won’t be long now.
All of the RFID gates have been installed and tested. The new ticket kiosks will soon be placed adjacent to the ticket windows. It’s feeling more and more like fall up here with each passing week. I picked up my season pass, tested it out, and I’m ready to go! Do you have yours?
