More Heli Work

We had another small round of Helicopter work today up here on the mountain. Xcel Energy contracted with a crew to fly in a replacement pole for the Whitepine power line. This line crosses US 50 near the Waterdog Lakes Trailhead. It then travels up the Waterdog drainage and over the Continental Divide near the summit of No Name Peak. From there it drops down to the Tomichi Creek drainage and to the historical townsite of Whitepine. It’s a pretty rugged route that services some pretty hardy folks down in Whitepine. If you’ve never been, you should check it out.
